Raymond signed an eight-year, $64.6 million contract with the Red Wings on Monday.
Raymond, an unsigned RFA before penning an extension Monday, will now be tied to Detroit through the 2031-32 season. The 22-year-old was the No. 4 selection in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft by the Red Wings. The Swedish winger is an integral part of Detroit's core going forward, and that was made clear by the substantial raise that Raymond received following the completion of his entry-level deal. The right-shot forward will likely slot in on the top line while skating with the top power-play unit. Raymond had his most productive season yet as a professional in 2023-24, banking 31 goals and 72 points in 82 regular-season contests.
