Gettinger signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with Detroit on Monday.
Gettinger has 12 goals and 25 points in 51 games with AHL Grand Rapids this season. The 25-year-old forward hasn't seen any playing time with the Red Wings yet but has one assist in 16 career NHL appearances.
