Tarasenko didn't practice Wednesday because he's dealing with an illness, according to Carley Johnston of the Red Wings' official site.
Tarasenko has a goal in three contests with the Red Wings this season. If he can't play Thursday versus the Rangers, then Detroit will need to recall a forward from the minors or dress seven defensemen.
