Wahlberg was loaned to Malmo of the SHL on Tuesday.
Wahlberg notched two goals and two assists in 17 games with the Redhawks last season. Buffalo selected the 18-year-old forward with the No. 39 pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Wahlberg signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Sabres in July.
