He got the primary helper on the Sabres' first goal after attempting a wraparound that John-Jason Peterka punched in on a rebound. Cozens' pass to Peterka in the third period resulted in a one-timer that San Jose netminder Kaapo Kahkonen couldn't snag. Finally, the 22-year-old forward scored an empty-netter to seal Buffalo's win. Cozens heads into the break riding a four-game point streak (three goals, four assists).
