Norris (upper body) participated in Monday's morning skate and could return ahead of schedule, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
Norris will miss his 18th straight game against Edmonton on Monday. He hasn't been in the lineup since Buffalo's season opener and was initially expected to miss about eight weeks. It remains unclear when he will be ready to return to the lineup, but he is making progress.
