Pouliot was summoned from AHL Texas on Monday.
Pouliot hasn't earned a point in four NHL appearances this season, but he has been credited with three shots on goal, five blocked shots and three hits. His recall doesn't bode well for the availability of Jani Hakanpaa (upper body) and Nils Lundkvist (concussion) ahead of Monday's matchup versus the Islanders.
