The Blue Jackets released Rask from his professional tryout offer Wednesday.
Rask picked up nine goals and 21 points through 47 games split between Minnesota and Seattle last season, so although he's been cut by Columbus, a few NHL teams may express interest in signing him once injuries begin to arise.
