Teams with three games: Anaheim, Atlanta, Boston, Buffalo, Carolina, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Montreal, Nashville, N.Y. Islanders, N.Y. Rangers, New Jersey, Ottawa, Philadelphia, San Jose, St. Louis, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington
Teams with two games: Florida

Editors Note: Projections are for Jan. 12-18 games and all stats are through Thursday

This week's news and notes for each team:

Anaheim Ducks: Jonas Hiller has won his last three starts (took a relief loss Thursday against the Kings) and has started two of the last three games for Anaheim, but the Ducks are creating no goalie controversy here. All-Star starter Jean-Sebastien Giguere is still their guy and Hiller has played lately because of favorable history against the Coyotes and Kings. Giguere still is a high-end Fantasy option and Hiller is an option in leagues that use average points per game ... Defenseman Scott Niedermayer has a pair of two-assist games and five helpers during four January games. He has one goal and six assists in his last six outings ... Ryan Getzlaf has managed a point in nine of 10 games. He has two goals and nine assists in that span ... Forward Corey Perry is due back from a four-game suspension before Fantasy Week 15, so it's safe to get him back into active lineups.

Atlanta Thrashers: Bryan Little has missed two games with a rib injury, but was able to practice Thursday. The Thrashers coaching staff is holding out hope he will play Saturday, so the injury doesn't appear to be overly serious. If he is back in the lineup, then consider Little a safe play Week 15 ... Struggling forward Ilya Kovalchuk finally is getting his act together with goals in four of his last five games. He also has seven points in six games ... Center Todd White has been one of Atlanta's top offensive players since mid-December. He has five goals and 12 assists in his last 15 games ... Jason Williams' offensive woes continue as he has failed to score in 16 games ... Defenseman Ron Hainsey hasn't scored in 18 games and has just points in two of his last 12 outings ... All three of Atlanta's Week 15 opponents -- Ottawa, Toronto, and Nashville -- have GAAs 2.85 or higher and rank in the bottom half for defense.

Boston Bruins: Chuck Kobasew has one goal in six games and just two in his last 17 ... Blake Wheeler has no goals in his last six games and three assists in that span ... Left wing Milan Lucic has just one goal in his last six games and two in the last 10, but right now the more pressing issue is getting back on the ice after missing Thursday's game against the Senators with an undisclosed ailment ... Stephane Yelle has just four points in his last 17 games after getting eight in his first 24 ... Marc Savard has been on his game with six goals and 14 assists in 13 games ... After going four games without a goal, Phil Kessel has scored in three of his last six appearances ... Marco Sturm is set to undergo left knee surgery and the Bruins aren't sure if he will be back this season ... Center Patrice Bergeron has not skated since suffering a concussion in late December. He has been working on a stationary bike and vows to return to the ice this season. Bergeron missed 72 regular-season games in 2007-08 while recovering from a concussion and coach Claude Julien intends to take it easy on his second-line center. With no return date in sight, keep Bergeron stashed in Fantasy ... Defenseman Andrew Ference, who has missed 25 games with a broken leg, left practice Monday as a precaution and there is still no timetable for his return.

Buffalo Sabres: Tim Connolly returned Friday after missing 24 games with a rib injury. Connolly has missed 249 of 368 regular-season games over the last four seasons. However, he has 26 goals and 67 assists in his last 119 outings and has been fairly productive when healthy. He has potential to be a viable Fantasy option, but just needs to stay healthy ... Derek Roy is off to a very fast start in January with three goals and four assists during a three-game point streak. He has responded to the threat of a benching from coach Lindy Ruff ... Thomas Vanek also has a three-game point streak (two goals, three assists) to open January ... Jason Pominville has totaled four goals and nine assists in his last 14 games ... Drew Stafford has totaled a point in 10 of 15 games. He has six goals and nine assists in that span ... Matt Ellis has been an unexpected source for goals in January as he has scored three times in three games.

Calgary Flames: The Flames recalled 2007 first-round pick Mikael Backlund Thursday. The 19-year-old forward is fresh off helping Sweden to a silver medal at the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championships. He was second on the team with seven points (five goals). He is a great long-term Fantasy keeper because it is expected Calgary will send him to junior hockey shortly. Don't take a flier on him in seasonal leagues until further notice ... Goalie Miikka Kiprusoff won the 169th game for the Flames Tuesday against the Sharks, which moved him into second spot on the franchise's all-time list behind Mike Vernon (262). Kiprusoff has a NHL-high 25 wins, but was left off the All-Star roster ... Todd Bertuzzi kicked off January with a three-game point streak (two goals, three assists) before sitting out Thursday against the Islanders with back spasms. He has been solid since December kicked off with 15 points in 16 games, but Bertuzzi could be a risky start heading into Week 15 if he can't overcome these back spasms ... Rene Bourque has a four-game point streak going (one goal, five assists) and has 17 points in his last 17 games ... Daymond Langkow has six goals and six assists during a seven-game point streak. He has 28 points in his last 31 games ... Defenseman Dion Phaneuf hasn't scored a goal since Nov. 11, but has three assists in his last four games ... Jarome Iginla has scored in just one of his last 10 games ... The Flames are up for four games Week 15. They have faced all four of their opponents -- San Jose, Phoenix, Colorado, St. Louis -- at least twice this season and have at least a 3.00 GFA against each team. Consider starting your Calgary skaters Week 15.

Carolina Hurricanes: Coach Paul Maurice hasn't had much of a need to dress enforcer Wade Brookbank since his hire Dec. 3. Brookbank has appeared in just two games ... Speaking of Maurice, he seems to have sparked Eric Staal's game as the All-Star has 17 points in his last 17 games. He has 10 goals in that span after getting eight in his first 25 ... Justin Williams has one goal and two assists in his last three games after going seven games without a point. He has played 18 minutes in two of his last four games and almost looks fully recovered from an Achilles' injury that kept him out until Dec. 4 ... Defenseman Anton Babchuk has totaled three goals and two assists in his last six games ... Rod Brind'Amour has no goals and two assists in his last seven games.

Chicago Blackhawks: All Star Patrick Kane returned to the lineup Thursday against the Avalanche after missing two games with an ankle injury. It appears safe to activate him for Week 15 ... Backup goalie Cristobal Huet recorded a shutout Tuesday against the Coyotes and moved to 5-0-1 in his career against Phoenix. He has won six of his last seven outings since Dec. 7, but coach Joel Quenneville still considers Nikolai Khabibulin his unquestioned starter ... Martin Havlat leads the team with six points in January (two goals) and has nine points in his last seven games ... Defenseman Duncan Keith has one goal, five assists and a plus-5 rating in his last six games ... Kris Versteeg continues his push for the Calder Trophy with five goals and four assists in eight games ... Jonathan Toews has scored three times and netted six assists in his last nine games ... It took Adam Burish 21 games to finally get his first points, but he made it count with a three-point night Tuesday. He is still best used in leagues that reward heavily for PIM.

Colorado Avalanche: Thanks to great play from Andrew Raycroft, coach Tony Granato is toying with the idea of using a platoon situation in net with Peter Budaj. Raycroft has won his last six starts and eight of nine since his arrival in the offseason. Budaj has started the majority of games, but is just 13-18-1. If Raycroft continues to play well, Budaj might no longer be considered a No. 1 goalie ... Left wing Wojtek Wolski has been named the team's top-line center with injuries to Joe Sakic and Paul Stastny and the move doesn't seem temporary. With Sakic close to retiring, Colorado is grooming Wolski to be a center -- the position he played in junior hockey ... Stastny, who had surgery on his broken right forearm Dec. 30, has resumed workouts at the team's practice facility, but Granato said he still is expected to be out until at least mid-February... Defenseman Adam Foote (triceps) is eligible to come off IR Tuesday against the Blue Jackets ... Only seven Colorado skaters have managed a point in four January games and three -- Wolski, Ryan Smyth and All Star Milan Hejduk -- have at least three points ... Colorado is up for four games Week 15. Three of their games are against teams -- St. Louis, Edmonton and Calgary -- in the bottom 10 for defense. Consider starting your Colorado skaters.

Columbus Blue Jackets: All-Star forward Rick Nash left Tuesday's game against the Red Wings with a lower-body injury and is expected to miss the weekend slate of games. However, Nash doesn't feel the injury is overly serious. Still, he remains a risky start heading into Week 15 ... The Blue Jackets are down five of their top nine forwards, including Kristian Huselius who is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, and one top defenseman (Rostislav Klesla) ... 2008 first-round pick Nikita Filatov has been recalled from Syracuse (AHL) because of all the injuries. He is fresh off an eight-goal run at the World Juniors ... Oft-injured goalie Pascal Leclaire is back on injured reserve with a lower-body injury. Dan LaCosta has been recalled on an emergency basis, but since Leclaire is nothing more than a backup goalie these days, he will not be missed in Fantasy Week 15 ... Steve Mason played through an upper-body injury Friday against the Capitals, so it's probably safe to keep the rookie active heading into Week 15.

Dallas Stars: Mike Modano has managed a pair of one-goal, one-assist games in his last six appearances. He has 13 goals and 13 assists on the season and will be the Stars' lone representative in the All-Star game ... James Neal has scored six times in his last nine games. He also has two assists in that span ... Jere Lehtinen has not scored in eight games since returning from injury Dec. 20, but has four assists in that span ... Mike Ribeiro has scored four goals in his last 12 games after getting just three in his previous 20. He also has nine assists in his last 12 games ... Only six Stars skaters have managed to tally a point in January ... Dallas is home for three games Week 15. They rank ninth in home GFA (3.22), so consider starting your Dallas skaters.

Detroit Red Wings: Nicklas Lidstrom might have had a slow first half and might be trailing in the hunt for the Norris Trophy, but this veteran defenseman isn't just ready to roll over heading down the stretch. Lidstrom has managed 12 points in his last 15 games to creep into the top 10 scoring among defensemen. He is also at plus-11 in his last 11 games to push him to plus-16 on the season. Lidstrom is known as a second-half player, so Fantasy owners shouldn't lose faith ... Fellow defenseman Niklas Kronwall also had a less than spectacular start, but is also coming around with five assists in his last five games ... Top-line center Pavel Datsyuk is throwing his name into the race for the Hart Trophy (league MVP). He has seven multi-point games in his last 12 appearances. He has 10 goals and 12 assists in that span to give him 47 points in 40 games ... There is some concern in regards to forward Henrik Zetterberg. He has scored in his last two games, but went nine games without a goal before that. He us only on pace for 32 goals after scoring a career-high 43 in 2007-08 ... Marian Hossa is starting to heat up as well after slumping for a bit. He has two goals and four assists in four January games after finishing December with no goals and one assist in five games ... The Red Wings are on a West Coast road trip Week 15 with games against Dallas, Anaheim, Los Angeles and San Jose. Detroit leads the NHL in road GFA (3.20), so despite the tough slate, consider starting your Detroit skaters.

Edmonton Oilers: Ales Hemsky went on injured reserve Friday after missing the previous five games with a concussion. Edmonton has no return date for their star skater, so keep him reserved heading into Week 15 ... Forward Dustin Penner has missed Hemsky in the lineup. Since the injury, Penner has one assist and a minus-6 rating in his last five games ... Defenseman Sheldon Souray was added to the All-Star team after posting 29 points in his first 38 games. He is second among NHL defenseman with 12 goals and once again looks like the 60-point threat he was in 2006-07 with Montreal. Souray was limited to just 26 games last season due to a shoulder injury. Now that he is 100 percent, Souray is back to being a high-end Fantasy option ... Andrew Cogliano is tied for the team lead with 12 goals and is six shy of tying his career-high ... Edmonton is up for four games Week 15 with three away from home. Edmonton ranks seventh in road GFA (2.95), so it might be worthwhile starting your Oilers skaters.

Florida Panthers: Stephen Weiss has one goal and six assists during a five-game point streak. He has two goals and nine assists in his last 10 games ... David Booth has totaled five goals and six assists during a seven-game point streak ... Nathan Horton has a team-high three goals in four January games ... Defenseman Bryan McCabe has stormed out to a fast start in January (four points in five games) after a sluggish December (five points in 14 games) ... Cory Stillman doesn't have a goal in eight games, but has made do with six assists ... Defenseman Jay Bouwmeester is headed to the All-Star game as the Panthers' lone representative. He is starting to heat up again with a three-game point streak (one goal, two assists) after getting just one point in his previous eight outings ... Despite not getting his first goal until Nov. 20, Michael Frolik has crept into the top 10 in rookie scoring with eight goals.

Los Angeles Kings: Coach Terry Murray reconfigured his top scoring line Thursday against the Ducks. He put Anze Kopitar with Wayne Simmonds and Alexander Frolov. The trio contributed two goals, while Dustin Brown also scored after being dropped to the second line. Patrick O'Sullivan was dropped to the third line as Murray is trying to create balance throughout his lineup ... Murray has also said goalies Erik Ersberg and Jonathan Quick will split time in net leading up to the All-Star break. He is hoping that will be enough of an evaluation period to perhaps name a starter after the break ... Rookie forward Oscar Moller is out until late January with a fractured clavicle. Moller was injured while playing for Sweden in the World Junior Championships ... Defenseman Kyle Quincey has recorded a point in each of the first three January games. He is trying to get back on track after not scoring once and totaling just seven points in 15 December games.

Minnesota Wild: General manager Doug Risebrough has said getting Brent Burns back on the blue line has been key in the resurgence of the Wild. Burns spent a good chunk of the early season playing at forward with Marian Gaborik nursing a lower-body injury. Gaborik is out until at least March following hip surgery, but Burns is going to stay at his natural position. Fantasy owners should be grateful since Burns struggled offensively when he was up front ... Owen Nolan leads the Wild with three goals in four January games. He is the only Minnesota skater with more than one tally. Three other players -- Antti Miettinen, Marek Zidlicky and Stephan Veilleux -- have just one goal ... Minnesota is home for three games Week 15. They rank 19th in home GFA (2.76).

Montreal Canadiens: Injured forward Saku Koivu (foot/ankle) will not be back in the lineup Saturday against the Capitals as expected, but the veteran forward is optimistic he will return within the week. Consider Koivu a risky start Week 15 ... Montreal would like to have goalie Carey Price back in the lineup Saturday as well, but it appears as though the second-year goalie isn't going to be active. He has had slow progress in recovery from a sprained ankle and hasn't put on any pads yet. The Canadiens aren't rushing Price back into action since Jaroslav Halak has gotten the job done in net. Consider Price a risky start as well Week 15 ... Alexei Kovalev and Robert Lang are tied for the team lead with 31 points. Defenseman Andrei Markov is close on their heels with 30 ... Andrei Kostitsyn has three goals and three assists during a three-game point streak ... Defenseman Patrice Brisebois had three assists Thursday against the Maple Leafs to move him into fifth all-time among Montreal defensemen with 364 points. Brisebois has actually been a decent offensive player since mid-December with two goals and six assists in his last 13 games ... Rookie Max Pacioretty is having a nice start to his career with a point in three of four games (two goals) ... Guillaume Latendresse has three goals and two assists in his last six games.

Nashville Predators: Steve Sullivan will make his much-anticipated return from a back injury Saturday against the Blackhawks. Sullivan has not played in a NHL game since January 2007 following two back surgeries later that summer. Sullivan will immediately be put on the power play, but Nashville might limit his even-strength time to begin his comeback ... Coach Barry Trotz switched his top line Thursday against the Penguins by moving David Legwand to the left wing with Jason Arnott and Martin Erat. The move paid off as both Erat and Legwand had a goal and assist. Legwand came into the game with just one goal and three assists in his previous 14 games. Michael Santorelli, who was called up from the minors, replaced Legwand as the second-line center ... J.P. Dumont's scoring woes continued as Thursday was the 13th straight game he was held without a goal. He has five assists in that span ... Defenseman Shea Weber is also feeling the heat with just two goals in his last 20 games ... Jerred Smithson is the surprise team leader in goals scored in January with two in four games ... Defenseman Greg Zanon had his first multi-point game of the season Thursday.

New Jersey Devils: Zach Parise was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team Thursday, but failed to coronate the honor with a point against the Thrashers. It was the third straight game he went without a point -- the first time that has happened all season ... Parise is not alone as the list of Devils forwards struggling to score is a long one. It includes Brian Gionta with one goal in 10 games, Travis Zajac (none in six), Patrik Elias (one in six) and Jamie Langenbrunner (two in 14) ... Patrik Elias hasn't had much trouble with his offense as he has one goal and six assists in five games ... The Devils are on the road for three games Week 15. They are averaging just 2.56 goals per game on the road, so consider benching your New Jersey skaters.

N.Y. Islanders: Oh vey! It just keeps getting worse for goalie Rick DiPietro. After spending most of the season on IR following arthroscopic knee surgery Oct. 31 to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and recently recovering from a groin injury, DiPietro is injured once again. He is now experiencing swelling in one of his surgically repaired knees and missed a third straight game Thursday against the Flames. The Islanders don't play again until Tuesday against the Rangers, but DiPietro should be kept reserved in Fantasy until he is 100 percent and producing. Fantasy owners might just want to hold onto Joey MacDonald a little longer ... Doug Weight is battling a leg injury and remains questionable heading into Week 15 ... Hats off to defenseman Mark Streit, who earned his first All-Star nod Thursday. Streit leads all defenseman with 33 points and will make his All-Star appearance in the city that kicked off his NHL career -- Montreal ... Veteran winger Richard Park has been an unexpected source for offense in January. He leads the team with three goals and six points. He is the only Islanders skater with two or more goals ... The Islanders are home for three games Week 15 and average 2.89 goals per game at Nassau Coliseum. But they face the Rangers, Bruins and Devils -- all top 10 defenses -- in the upcoming scoring period, so you might bench your New York skaters.

N.Y. Rangers: Former Rangers star Ron Duguay recently told the New York papers that it would be in the team's best interest to bring back Sean Avery, who has been suspended since early December for remarks made about an ex-girlfriend. Duguay feels that Avery, who was a Ranger for two seasons before leaving for Dallas in the offseason, is the fireplug the team is missing. Dallas is looking to unload Avery, but it will be interesting to see if New York makes a play ... Defenseman Michal Rozsival has five goals in his last seven games after getting two in his first 34 appearances ... Nigel Dawes has points in seven of his last nine games (nine total) ... The Rangers are looking for better play from Scott Gomez and Wade Redden in the second half. Redden hasn't scored since the third game of the season and Gomez has just 28 points in his first 37 games ... Chris Drury has scored in his last two games and has 13 points in his last 11 games ... Nikolai Zherdev has gone six games without a goal, while defenseman Daniel Girardi hasn't scored since Nov. 24. He has just one point in his last 18 games ... The Rangers hit the road for three games Week 15. They rank 14th in road GFA (2.78).

Ottawa Senators: Ottawa is expecting defenseman Filip Kuba, who hasn't played since Dec. 20 because of a groin injury, to take the ice Saturday against the Rangers. It appears safe to get Kuba back into active lineups Week 15 ... Anton Volchenkov (shoulder) is not yet ready to play, so consider him a poor start Week 15 ... Jarkko Ruutu is set to finish a two-game suspension Saturday for biting the hand of Andrew Peters during a fight. He is a safe play Week 15 ... The Senators made a surprising move Friday by recalling Brian Elliott from Binghamton of the AHL. Elliott, who is considered the goalie of the future, has an18-8-1 record for Binghamton. He has a 2.31 GAA and .926 save percentage. Alex Auld and Martin Gerber have been stuck in a funk, and this could be Ottawa's way of shaking things up ... Jason Spezza has managed a point in eight of his last nine games. He has five goals and six assists in that span ... Antoine Vermette has come to life recently with two goals and five assists in his last nine games ... Chris Phillips has three goals and three assists in his last 11 games.

Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers are faced with a tough decision as Daniel Briere is close to returning from a groin injury. Briere is not expected back Saturday against the Maple Leafs, but is likely to play sometime Week 15. Philadelphia already placed Lasse Kukkonen on waivers to free up space for Briere, but the Flyers might also be forced to send rookie defenseman Luca Sbisa back to his junior club. The Flyers have already wasted a year on Sbisa's entry-level contract and said it would be best for his development to stay in the NHL. But roster limitations might force the team's hand ... Jeff Carter will be the Flyers' lone All-Star representative. He has a team-high 44 points in 40 games, and is once pace for 55 goals and 90 points ... Goalie Martin Biron has played some of his best hockey as of late with a 11-2-4 record in his last 17 games ... Joffrey Lupul (abdominal pull) could be back in the lineup as soon as Saturday. Antero Niittymaki (groin) and Claude Giroux (concussion) are still a few days off.

Phoenix Coyotes: Shane Doan will represent the Coyotes in the All-Star game after posting 40 points (18 goals) in his first 42 games ... Phoenix would like to see a big second half from Peter Mueller, and the second-year player has been laying the foundation for a strong finish. He has managed 12 points (four goals) in his last 18 games ... Olli Jokinen is starting to get his bearings back after being a little sluggish following an early December return to the lineup from a shoulder injury. He has four goals and four assists in his last nine games ... Phoenix hits the road for four games Week 15. They rank 26th in road GFA (2.25) and face two top five defenses -- Minnesota and Vancouver. You might consider benching your Phoenix skaters.

Pittsburgh Penguins: Ruslan Fedotenko will be on the pine for 4-6 weeks with a broken right hand ... Alex Goligoski, who leads the Penguins' defense with six goals and 18 points, played on the right wing Thursday against the Oilers with Maxime Talbot and Matt Cooke. With eight defensemen healthy, the Penguins will continue to play some of their defensemen up front ... Jordan Staal agreed to a four-year contract extension Thursday and went out an commemorated the event with a goal against the Predators. It was his first goal in 11 games ... Miroslav Satan doesn't have a goal in his 11 last appearances ... Evgeni Malkin was held without a point Thursday. It was the fifth time in eight games the All-Star has been held off the stat sheet ... Pittsburgh plays three of its four games Week 15 at home. They rank 13th in home GFA, averaging 2.95 goals per game.

San Jose Sharks: Coach Todd McLellan split up the pairing of Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton and Devin Setoguchi Tuesday against the Flames. Marleau moved from left wing to center a line with Ryane Clowe and Setoguchi. Thornton then centered a line with Milan Michalek and Jonathan Cheechoo ... Clowe scored his team-leading 10th power-play goal Tuesday. He is third on the team with 17 goals this season ... Cheechoo has two goals and six assists in eight games since returning from injury ... Mike Grier is the surprise team leader with three goals in two January games ... San Jose is home for three games Week 15. They rank fifth in home GFA (3.86), so consider starting your San Jose skaters.

St. Louis Blues: Paul Kariya had hip surgery Monday and is expected to miss the rest of the regular season. St. Louis is in no rush to get Kariya back on the ice and possibly jeopardize his career. It's safe to cut him in all seasonal formats ... Alexander Steen and Carlo Colaiacovo are paying dividends for the Blues since being acquired from Toronto in November. Steen has 10 points and Colaiacovo has seven points in 20 games for the Blues ... Andy McDonald, who has been out since Nov. 16 with a broken ankle, has been cleared to practice, but didn't return to the lineup Friday against the Canucks as expected. If he is not in the lineup Sunday against the Oilers, then he is still not ready for activation in Fantasy ... Brad Boyes has just two goals and one assist in his last seven games ... Keith Tkachuk is the Blues' lone All-Star representative. He has managed 14 goals and 13 assists in his first 39 games. Ten of his goals have come on the power play.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Center Vincent Lecavalier is returning home to Montreal later this month to partake in the All-Star game. It is his fourth All-Star selection, but perhaps it wasn't the right year for Lecavalier. He is not ranked in the top 35 for scoring this season and isn't even leading his team. That honor goes to the snubbed Martin St. Louis ... Defenseman Andrej Meszaros ended a long goal drought with his first tally of the season Thursday against the Coyotes. It was his first goal since Feb. 21 when he was with Ottawa and it ended a 60-game drought ... Backup goalie Olaf Kolzig continues to sit in the press box with an arm injury. He is hoping to return during Week 15, but there is no need to wait on pins-and-needles in Fantasy ... Defenseman Paul Ranger was back in the lineup Thursday after missing three games with a lower-body injury. It's safe to get him active for Week 15 ... Vaclav Prospal has been red hot since Dec. 30 with two goals and five assists during a five-game point streak. The move back to the top line with Lecavalier and St. Louis is paying dividends ... Jeff Halpern is starting to get his act together following offseason knee surgery. Halpern has one goal and three assists in his last four games after getting just one point in his first six games of the season ... Ryan Malone is still having a good run despite being dropped to the second line with Halpern. He has two goals in four January games.

Toronto Maple Leafs: Mikhail Grabovski has been suspended three games by the NHL for shoving a ref and kicking him during Thursday's game against the Canadiens. He is eligible to return during Week 15, but keep him reserved until Week 16 (Jan. 19-25) ... The arrival of Brad May in a trade with Anaheim forced Toronto to send rookie Nikolai Kulemin to the AHL ... Defenseman Tomas Kaberle is stirring the pot in Toronto as on Thursday he said he would waive his no-trade clause if the Leafs ask him to do so at the trade deadline. He was one of five players last season that refused to accommodate that request. Kaberle is Toronto's representative for the All-Star game ... Center Matt Stajan returned from a four-game absence due to an eye injury Thursday against the Canadiens. He was back centering the top line and scored his 10th goal of the season. It appears safe to activate him Week 15 ... Jason Blake continues his scoring surge as he has scored seven times since Dec. 4.

Vancouver Canucks: Injured goalie Roberto Luongo returned to practice Thursday and faced shots for about 25 minutes. He has reported to be pain free from a groin injury that has plagued him since late November and is hoping to return before the All-Star break (Jan. 24-27). Luongo hopes to return sometime during Week 15, but is still bit of a risky start with no definitive return date ... Center Mats Sundin made his long awaited debut Wednesday against the Oilers. He centered the second line with Kyle Wellwood and Mason Raymond. Sundin should stay at center for most of his time with the Canucks ... Steve Bernier leads the team with five points in four January games. He had two goals Wednesday against the Canucks, ending a 13-game drought without a goal ... Vancouver is home for three games Week 15. They rank 15th in home GFA (2.89).

Washington Capitals: Both Sergei Fedorov (ankle) and Tomas Fleischmann (pneumonia) both returned from injury Friday against the Blue Jackets ... Top-line center Nicklas Backstrom has failed to record a point in just three of his last 17 games. He has 24 points (seven goals) in that span ... Defenseman Mike Green has two goals and four assists in his last five games. He finally appears over a shoulder injury that plagued him since late November ... Alexander Semin has a seven-game point streak since returning from injury, but has scored just once in that span.
