Voracek (concussion) officially announced his retirement Tuesday, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. Voracek hasn't played in an NHL game since Nov. 4, 2022, due to concussion concerns. The winger spent the entire year on LTIR while officially a member of the Arizona Coyotes, though he never played for the organization. Voracek will retire having logged 1,058 games for the Flyers and Blue Jackets in which he tallied 223 goals and 583 assists.

Voracek (concussion) is not expected to resume his NHL career, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports, resulting in Arizona acquiring his contract from Columbus on Thursday along with a 2023 sixth-round pick in exchange for Jon Gillies. The biggest news here is that Voracek has likely played his final NHL game due to his concussion problems. If that's truly the case, Voracek will eventually retire when his contract expires after the 2023-24 campaign having logged 1,058 games for the Flyers and Blue Jackets in which he racked up 223 goals and 583 assists. By taking on Voracek's contract, the Coyotes won't have to worry about reaching the cap floor next season.

Voracek is still out indefinitely with concussion symptoms and said Monday there's only a "slim" chance that he will be able to return this season, Blue Jackets team reporter Jeff Svoboda reports. Voracek, who has been out since Nov. 4, has one goal and five assists in 11 games this year. "Obviously I'm going to make my best efforts to try to (return), but it might be a long process," he admitted. "As of now, I don't see myself playing in the near future, but I'll do everything in my power to try to get back on the ice." Voracek added that he feels "OK" right now.

Voracek's upper-body injury is a concussion and Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen doesn't expect him to return in the near future. Voracek hasn't been medically cleared to engage in hockey activities. He has a history of head injuries and his doctors want him to take some time off in the hopes that will cause his symptoms to go away. When Voracek's healthy, he's one of the Blue Jackets' top forwards and a pillar of their first power-play unit. The 33-year-old last played Nov. 4.

Voracek (upper body) still doesn't have a timetable for his return, Blue Jackets team reporter Jeff Svoboda reports. Voracek hasn't played since Nov. 4 and remains on injured reserve. He has one goal and five assists in 11 games this season.
