According to general manager Chuck Fletcher, Morin's (knee) playing career is over, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Morin missed the entirety of the season after undergoing knee surgery in September, and apparently he's simply suffered too much damage to that knee to continue playing at a professional level. The 26-year-old may land a job in the Flyers' front office, but he'll finish his playing days having collected one goal through 29 NHL appearances.

Morin (knee) is out indefinitely and will not play this season, per Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Morin underwent knee surgery on Sept. 10. While the 26-year-old's initial timeline for recovery was 6-8 weeks, he is now not expected to return to play this season. The winger averaged 10:11 of ice time and logged one goal through 20 appearances in 2020-21.

Morin is expected to be on the shelf for 6-8 weeks after undergoing knee surgery Sept. 10, the team announced Tuesday. At a minimum, Morin will be unavailable until early November due to his knee problem. The Quebec native has shifted between forward and defense in recent years but may be hard-pressed to crack the lineup at either position even once given the green light to play.

Morin is dealing with an undisclosed injury that will prevent him from joining the Flyers for the beginning of training camp, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. With Philadelphia having completely revamped its blue line with the additions of Ryan Ellis, Rasmus Ristolainen and Keith Yandle, any time missed by Morin for training camp won't improve his chances of making the 23-man roster. The 26-year-old Quebec native could also feature as a forward this season, which could give him another opportunity to break into the lineup.

Morin agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Philadelphia on Monday. Morin played in a career-high 20 games last season but managed just one point and averaged a mere 10:12 of ice time. Given his limited offensive upside, Morin is unlikely to offer much in the way of fantasy value even if he becomes a full-time roster player for the Flyers this year.
