York (upper body) was activated from injured reserve ahead of his return to the lineup versus Chicago on Saturday, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports. York sat out 13 games after being injured versus the Capitals on Oct. 24. He has two goals and an assist in seven games this season after breaking out in 2023-24 with 10 goals and 20 helpers in 82 regular-season contests. York will replace Egor Zamula in Saturday's lineup.

York has missed the last 13 games after he was hit into the boards in the third period Oct. 24 against the Capitals. The 23-year-old blueliner has two goals and an assist in seven appearances this season. York had a breakout campaign in 2023-24, tallying 10 goals and adding 20 assists over 82 regular-season games.

York (upper body) continues to be a full participant at practice, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports, but remains on injured reserve ahead of Monday's matchup with Colorado. York will be sidelined for his 12th consecutive contest due to his upper-body injury, having last played Oct. 23 versus Washington. With Emil Andrae (undisclosed) and Jamie Drysdale (upper body) both sidelined as well, the team could certainly benefit from having York back in action. At this point, York may be hard-pressed to reach the 30-point threshold again this year, after needing all 82 games to achieve that mark in 2023-24.

York (upper body) is slated to travel with the Flyers for their upcoming three-game road trip but still may not play, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports Monday. While it's certainly a step in the right direction for York, the fact that he seems unlikely to be in action during the trip would bring his missed game total up to eight. The 23-year-old blueliner needed all 82 regular-season contests last year to get to the 30-point mark and now seems unlikely to reach that threshold in 2024-25.
