Nigel Dawes announced his retirement from professional hockey Wednesday.Dawes, who was selected by the Rangers in the fifth round of the 2003 Entry Draft, hasn't played in the NHL since 2010-11, when he picked up one assist through 13 games split between the Thrashers and the Canadiens.
