The most intriguing aspect of Fantasy Football is the drafting process, when you get to play general manager of your own team. You, the owner, get to evaluate talent and decide which players are good enough to start for your team!
Well, we here at CBS SportsLine have come up with a way for you to enjoy the draft process every Sunday! With our new Heads Up Fantasy Football game, you draft a team prior to kickoff and face off against another Fantasy Football fanatic.
The player pool consists of NFL teams participating in either the 1 PM (ET) or 4 PM (ET) Sunday NFL games. Participants will hold a draft, along with their opponent, where they select a starting quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, a tight end, a kicker and a team defense along with three reserves from the specific player pool. Adding a new twist, participants in the Heads Up game can conduct add/drops as well as activate and reserve players as the games are played. The changes will take effect in the following quarter of action.
While the usual suspects should remain high on your draft boards each week, some decisions will need to be based solely on the matchups. Are the Colts going to blow out the Browns? If so, Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison might not be the best options, since they’ll likely sit or play conservatively in the second half. Does Brian Westbrook typically put up huge numbers against the Redskins? If so, you’ll have the chance to draft him specifically for that game!
We’ll provide you with rankings and tips each week as you get your feet wet with our new and exciting product. You get to assemble a new team each week and can manage your roster as games are being played, an option previously unheard of in Fantasy Football. We hope you enjoy the weekly intrigue that comes with Heads Up Fantasy Football.
