Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old African American man, was shot and killed two months ago while he was jogging in Georgia, and with the release of video footage of the shooting this week, people are demanding an arrest be made. The police reported that Arbery was chased by two white men in Brunswick who suspected him of robbery. Arbery's family members are maintaining his innocence, saying he was just jogging.
Arbery's mother told CBS News, "Ahmaud is no longer with us and he's not with us because two men followed him while he was jogging and killed him. An arrest should have been made already."
According to the Associated Press, Travis McMichael, the son of a former district attorney investigator, fired the fatal shot and was not arrested because he said he was conducting a citizens arrest.
Many, including athletes and celebrities, are taking to social media to demand justice for Arbery.
