Kyle Stanley leads the Tour Championship at 6 under after the first round, but Brooks Koepka (4 under), Jordan Spieth (3 under), Justin Thomas (3 under) and Dustin Johnson (2 under) are all hot on his heels. The pairings will be reset for Friday, which means Stanley will go off last with Webb Simpson, but Spieth will again be with Thomas near the end of the day.
Those two pieced together a combined 6 under on Thursday to stay in the mix, which is vital in a field of the 30 best players on the PGA Tour. Spieth remains the leader in the FedEx Cup race so even if he's not playing for a tournament title this weekend, there will be plenty at stake.
Here's how things will look on Friday.
