The 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational will be the fourth signature event on the PGA Tour schedule and the field will include 69 of the top players in the world. That includes nine of the top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking, with both Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy seeking their second win in this event. Only seven players have won the Arnold Palmer Invitational more than once, including legends like Tiger Woods, Tom Kite and Ernie Els.
Scheffler won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2022 and McIlroy won in 2018, so can either get over the finish line this year, and how much exposure should you have to them in your Fantasy golf leagues? And which longshots can you use for daily Fantasy golf and one-and-dones? Before making any 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational fantasy golf picks, you have to see the Cognizant Classic fantasy golf rankings from SportsLine handicapper Eric Cohen.
Cohen is an avid golf bettor who correctly predicted the pre-tournament outright winner of the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic (Rickie Fowler +1400), 2023 PGA Championship (Brooks Koepka +2000), 2023 Honda Classic (Chris Kirk +3500), 2022 Open Championship (Cameron Smith +2200), 2022 U.S. Open (Matt Fitzpatrick +2500) and 2022 Phoenix Open (Scottie Scheffler's first career victory at +2800).

2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational expert picks
One player Cohen is getting behind for his fantasy picks is Will Zalatoris. A product of the Dallas suburbs, Zalatoris was an All-American at Wake Forest but he failed to make it past the first stage of Q School when he turned pro. He wound up playing Monday qualifiers to earn status on the Korn Ferry Tour and then used a top-10 finish in the 2020 U.S. Open to help propel himself onto the PGA Tour.
Zalatoris earned PGA Tour Rookie of the Year honors that season despite starting the year with special temporary membership status and then earned his first win at the 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship. After undergoing back surgery in April 2023, Zalatoris returned for the 2024 season and he's rounding into incredible form, finishing T-13 at the Farmers Insurance Open and T-2 in his last start at the 2024 Genesis Invitational.
On the other hand, the golf expert is fading Patrick Cantlay, despite his status as one of the favorites entering the week. The 31-year-old is an eight-time PGA Tour winner and he's currently ranked No. 6 in the world. He's also coming off a t-4th finish at the Genesis Invitational but that finish was a disappointment for many considering he had a two-shot lead to start the final round.
"He gained more than six strokes putting at Riviera but has struggled recently around the greens, which is concerning considering the tricky green complexes at Bay Hill," Cohen said. "He's on the no-bet outrights list for me until further notice" See all of Cohen's Arnold Palmer Invitational picks at SportsLine.
