Scottie Scheffler is now the clear favorite to win the 2024 Tour Championship and $25 million first prize that goes with capturing the FedEx Cup. After opening with a 6-under 65, Scheffler will be paired with someone who shot the second best score of the first round, Collin Morikawa.

A two-time major champion, Morikawa rose from No. 7 in the FedEx Cup standings all the way to T2 with his 5-under 65. He surpassed everyone but Scheffler and Xander Schauffele, with whom he is now tied at 9 under. That duo is seven back of Scheffler, who is at 16 under after his 65.

Schauffele got booted from the final 2 p.m. pairing and will play with one of the hottest players in the world right now, Adam Scott. Scott shot a 66 on Thursday and gets a prime tee time alongside Schauffele at 1:49 p.m. ET.

Those aren't the only must-see tee times, though. Ryder Cup players Sam Burns and Wyndham Clark will go just before the final two pairs at 1:38 p.m. Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas, with six majors between them, will tee off together at 12:49 p.m. after J.T. shot a 66 of his own to jump into the top 15 on the leaderboard. European Ryder Cup stars Ludvig Åberg and Sepp Straka will tee off 90 minutes before the McIlroy-J.T. pairing at 12:16 p.m.
