The 2018 PGA Championship leaderboard is loaded with talent heading into Sunday's action at Bellerive Country Club. Two-time major champion Brooks Koepka, who holds a two-shot lead entering the final round, is the Vegas favorite at 1-1 PGA Championship odds, followed by Adam Scott, Rickie Fowler and Jon Rahm at 8-1. Before you lock in any 2018 PGA Championship picks, you'll want to hear what the team at SportsLine has to say.
SportsLine's prediction model, built by predictive data engineer and DFS pro Mike McClure, has called four of the last seven majors heading into the weekend, including Patrick Reed's career-defining victory at the 2018 Masters.
The model was also high on Tiger Woods before his stunning run at the 2018 British Open, saying it was the major he had the best chance to contend in this year. Woods hadn't finished top-10 in a major since 2013, but he held the outright lead at the British Open at one point and finished with an impressive sixth-place finish. Anyone who has followed the model is way up.
Now that three rounds of the 2018 PGA Championship have been played, SportsLine simulated the final day 10,000 times and the results were surprising.
One huge surprise the model is calling for: Gary Woodland, who's third entering the final round and dominated early on, stumbles and finishes well outside the top 5.
Woodland currently sits three shots off the lead after shooting a disappointing 71 on Saturday. He had a share of the lead after a birdie on the eighth hole in the third round, but went on to shoot four over par on the next two holes. He was able to re-group and birdie two of his final seven holes, but the model doesn't like his chances of closing it out on Sunday.
Another surprise: Tiger Woods, a 14-time major champion, makes a strong run at the title but ultimately falls short.
Woods has back-to-back rounds of 66 at Bellerive entering Sunday. It's just the third time in his career that he's posted 66 in back-to-back rounds at a major tournament. The other two happened at the Masters in 1997 and 2005, both events Woods went on to win. The model, however, says there are far better values remaining in the 2018 PGA Championship field.
Also, the model says an astronomical long shot makes a strong run at the Wanamaker Trophy. Anyone who bets on this underdog could hit it big.
So who wins the 2018 PGA Championship? And which astronomical long shot makes a run at the title? Check out the odds below and visit SportsLine now to see the full PGA Championship projected leaderboard from the model that's called four of the last seven majors heading into the weekend.
