Rays pitcher Alex Colome will make a spot start Saturday against the Yankees in New York, according to MLB.com.

Colome is 4-6 with a 3.07 ERA in 14 starts at Triple-A Durham. He threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings in his first start of the season May 30 against the Marlins.

"He pitched really well down in Miami," manager Joe Maddon said. "He's a wonderful young man. He's got great stuff. He made his debut in Miami, which is great. So Yankee Stadium is going to be a little bit difficult. However, I think he's going to be OK. He's kind of a cool customer. And I think he will enjoy the moment."
