CBSSports.com Insider Jon Heyman confirms a Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com report that the Oakland A's have agreed to terms with the third baseman who was recently released by the Tigers.
The 34-year-old Inge has a .400 OPS this season, albeit in a tiny sample of just 20 plate appearances. While Inge hasn't enjoyed a (somewhat) productive season at the plate since 2006, he's still a potential defensive asset at the hot corner.
It's also worth noting that Oakland third basemen this season have combined to "hit" just .127/.159/.215. So Inge might very well provide the A's with an upgrade.
