Athletics starter Drew Pomeranz struggled against the Twins in Thursday's 6-5 loss. Pomeranz (1-1) lasted just 4 1/3 innings and surrendered six runs (four earned) on three hits. He struck out two and walked five. This was the fifth consecutive start in which the left-hander did not go at least six innings.
"Instead of just going after guys and throwing strikes, I pretty much beat myself out there," Pomeranz said, per MLB.com. "You give up three hits and six runs, that should never happen."
Through six starts, Pomeranz owns a 5.12 ERA with 27 strikeouts. He is scheduled to toe the rubber next on Tuesday against the Red Sox.
