Athletics shortstop Marcus Semien is getting the day off and is being held out of the lineup Wednesday against the Tigers. Semien is mired in a 7-for-38 slump over his last 10 games, and has played in every game this season.
Eric Sogard will spell Semien at shortstop and bat ninth on Wednesday afternoon.
