Astros first baseman Chris Carter was held out of the starting lineup for a second straight game Sunday against the Rangers after sustaining an ankle injury Friday. Jon Singleton started at second base for a second straight game in Carter's absence.
Carter is hitless in his last seven games (18 at-bats). He has one RBI, three walks and eight strikeouts in that span.
