Astros pitcher Collin McHugh gave up one earned run in Friday afternoon's 5-1 win over the Rangers.
McHugh gave up five hits, struck out four batters and walked two. His pitch count totaled 85. McHugh pitched five scoreless innings before giving up a run on a fielders' choice bunt from Astros outfielder Delino DeShields Jr.
"My fastball command was kind of a little touch-and-go early," McHugh said, via MLB.com. "But to be able to get back in counts was big, especially when the guys in their lineup like Beltre, Prince [Fielder], some guys who can do some damage when they get a count in their favor. It was important to work back and kind of battle."
McHugh is slated for his next start to be on April 15 against the Athletics.
