Astros starting pitcher Collin McHugh had another strong spring outing Monday against the Blue Jays. After tossing two scoreless innings in his spring debut, McHugh bounced back for three more scoreless innings Monday.

The right-handed allowed three hits and one walk, while striking out three. He has six strikeouts through five spring innings.

“If you’ve seen my spring training numbers, you would know that’s not the (typical) case,” McHugh said, per the Houston Chronicle. “I’m usually a very slow starter. It’s good to get a couple of solid outings under my belt.

“Better than expected. The body gets a little bit tired (sometimes in spring). You’ve gone at it every day in spring training. To recover as well as I did and on one less day rest than usual, even though I only threw two innings last time -- it feels good to get back in the swing of things.”
