Astros starter Collin McHugh continued his recent string of strong pitching, as he dominated the Yankees on Wednesday afternoon. The right-hander allowed two runs on five hits over 6 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out eight in the 6-2 victory.
McHugh (14-7, 3.92 ERA) blanked the Yankees through his first six innings of work. But he served up a two-run home run to Didi Gregorius in the seventh inning, the only damage done against him.
After the strong performance, McHugh finishes August 2-2 with a 1.89 ERA in five starts.
