Athletics pitcher Jesse Chavez allowed four runs on five hits in 6 2/3 innings of work in Oakland's 4-2 loss to the Mariners on Sunday.

Chavez cruised through the first three innings before having difficulties in the fourth. Chavez allowed a double to Kyle Seager, driving in a run. Then with runners on second and third, Dustin Ackley cracked a double to left field, driving in both runs. Chavez allowed one more run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly.

Chavez, now 1-3 on the year, moved his ERA to 2.56 in 31 2/3 innings of work. He will look to get back on track Saturday against the White Sox.
