In a week with too much sad news comes one more piece -- Lily Anderson, whose fight against cancer was highlighted in 2011 with a rousing rendition of the national anthem at Turner Field in Atlanta, died late Saturday night at the age of 11 after a three-year battle with Neuoroblastoma cancer.

We wrote last year about Anderson's anthem and her relationship with former Braves catcher J.C. Boscan, who is now with the Cubs' organization. Here's Anderson signing the anthem before a Pirates-Braves game in July 2011.

The owner of Anderson's Facebook page wrote of Anderson's death on Sunday morning:

The Anderson family wants to thank all of you for your kind words, prayers, visits, gifts and offerings. They did not go unnoticed and if they could thank each one of you personally, they would.

This is a very difficult time for Jennifer, Joey, Audrey and all of the extended family. Please understand that we need the coming days to remember Lily privately. Funeral arrangements are being made and an update will be posted as soon as those details become available.

Anderson Power is stronger than ever tonight!

The Braves' official Twitter account wrote this on Sunday:
