Astros outfielder Chris Carter returned to action Friday night against the Mariners.

Carter, who missed the final two games before the All-Star break, finished 1 for 4 with a single and a walk in a 10-7 defeat. He is hitting .229 with 18 home runs and 47 RBI in 292 at-bats.
