Yankees catcher Chris Stewart was forced out of Thursday's contest against the Mariners with a left groin injury.

Stewart appeared to have sustained the injury after awkwardly on third base during the seventh inning. Andrew Romine took his place for the remained of the game. Manager Joe Girardi is unsure about the severity of the injury. Stewart will undergo an MRI after the game.

"He said it didn't pop," Girardi told reporters after the game.
