Diamondbacks infielder Cliff Pennington added a pinch of power in a pinch-hit appearance Sunday against the Padres.
Pennington launched a solo home run off Dale Thayer in the eighth inning. He finished 1 for 1 with a run scored and an RBI in a 7-4 defeat. He owns a .274/.357/.395 slash line with two homers and 10 RBI over 124 at-bats. His two homers have come over his last nine appearances.
