Astros pitcher Collin McHugh turned in a strong start Wednesday against the Angels.

McHugh allowed one run on four hits over 7 2/3 innings. He struck out eight and did not issue any walks during the outing. The Angels scratched across their only run in the third inning. After giving up two singles, a run scored on a fielding error by Jonathan Villar. Though the run came in on an error, McHugh was still charged. McHugh pitched into the eighth inning, but was pulled after quickly getting two outs. He threw 96 pitches.

With the win, McHugh improved to 8-9. He’ll take on the Mariners in his next start.
