Obviously this BBWAA Hall of Fame ballot brought out the venom in many because the issue of PED use -- either speculative, admitted or proven -- among several of the candidates is as polarizing an issue as we've even seen in Hall of Fame voting.
First, we give you former big-league catcher Paul Lo Duca, who has long since admitted he juiced.
Yes, that's a very valid point. As has been said before, if being big and strong makes someone the best baseball player ever, we'd be watching body builders play our favorite game. That being said, there is an integrity clause on the Hall of Fame voting instructions.
And not everyone agrees with Lo Duca. Witness current Tigers utility man Danny Worth:
So not only does Worth believe the likes of Rafael Palmeiro and Mark McGwire should not be on the Hall of Fame ballot, but he also believes a 50-game suspension for a positive test is not long enough.
And the dance continues.
