Cubs infielder Jonathan Herrera launched his first home run of the season in the 6-1 win over the Mets on Thursday. Herrera's two-run home run in the sixth inning off Jacob deGrom gave the Cubs a 4-1 lead at the time.
This was Herrera's first longball in nearly two years. His last home run prior to Thursday came on July 7, 2013. Herrera was getting a spot start at third base on Thursday, allowing Kris Bryant to have the afternoon off.
