Arizona reliever Takashi Saito has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.
While the 42-year-old Saito has been outstanding throughout his major-league career (2.27 ERA in 333.1 innings), this marks the fifth time in five big-league seasons that Saito has spent time on the DL.
This season, Saito has an ERA of 6.14, but that's across a span of just 7.1 innings. The D-backs have replaced him on the active roster lefty Mike Zagurski. Zagurski, 29, logged 6.18 ERA in 32 games with Arizona this season and had just recently been designated for assignment then outrighted to Triple-A Reno.
