After saying Wednesday that he'll treat the remainder situation as an evaluation period, including platooning more players, Nationals manager Davey Johnson said that infielder Danny Espinosa hasn't improved enough in Triple-A to warrant a call-up in September, the Washington Post reports.
After hitting .158/.193/.272 in 158 at-bats with the Nationals, Espinosa has hit .202/.267/.277 with two home runs, 15 RBI and five stolen bases in 238 at-bats with Triple-A Syracuse.
