The Dodgers on Saturday placed outfielder Carl Crawford on the 15-day disabled list because of a sore back. To replace Crawford on the active roster, the Dodgers have recalled infielder Micah Johnson. On the DL, Crawford joins fellow Dodger position players Andre Ethier, Yasmani Grandal, Howie Kendrick, and Alex Guerrero.

As Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times notes, manager Dave Roberts is likely to use some combination of Scott Van Slyke, Trayce Thompson, and Enrique Hernandez in left field while Crawford is on the shelf.
