Rays pitcher Drew Smyly turned in a strong start Saturday against the Yankees.
Smyly allowed two runs on four hits over seven innings of work. He struck out four and walked one during the outing. The long ball was the only blemish on Smyly’s day. With a man on base, Smyly allowed a two-run homer to Martin Prado in the second inning. He was able to settle in after that, tossing an additional five scoreless innings. The Rays managed to battle back during the start, giving Smyly a no-decision.
Smyly will take on the Blue Jays in his next start.
