Rays closer Fernando Rodney pitched the ninth inning in a 2-2 ballgame against the Rangers Wednesday. He kept it tied at two.
Rodney needed just 13 pitches to go 1-2-3 in the inning and get Tampa to the bottom of the ninth for a chance to win. His ERA is now at 3.50.
Rodney has gone eight straight scoreless appearances since giving up two runs in his eighth blown save back on Aug. 27 against the Angels. He's been strong down the stretch as the Rays look to make the playoffs.
