White Sox starter Hector Santiago was not backed by enough run support as he failed to factor in the decision in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Phillies.

Santiago allowed a solo home run to John Mayberry in the seventh for his only damage of the night. The left-hander yielded one run on three hits and one walk while striking out nine over 7 1/3 innings.

Santiago has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four of his last six starts. He is 3-5 with a 3.30 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP through his first 23 appearances (12 starts).
