White Sox starter Hector Santiago gave up a run in the first inning Wednesday at home against Baltimore. He was a little shaky at the outset of the game, but settled down nicely in what would become a no-decision.
Santiago gave up just a Chris Davis solo homer the rest of the way over seven strong innings but left the game tied at two runs apiece. He surrendered five base hits and walked two over 123 pitches, striking out nine batters.
Santiago has 14 Ks over his last three outings spanning 17 1/3 innings and is 1-0 over that stretch. He's pitching fairly well right now and makes his next appearance Monday in a start against the Chicago Cubs.
