The Indians optioned reliever Nick Hagadone to Triple-A Columbus, the club announced via Twitter. No corresponding move has been made yet, but Scott Barnes will likely be promoted to pitch Sunday's game against the Rays.
Hagadone posted a 6.39 ERA in 25.1 innings, largely stemming from 15 walks, a rate of 5.33 per nine innings. Barnes has made five relief appearances for Cleveland, all in 2012, and has a 7.71 ERA. His last start at any level came April 18 for Columbus. He owns a 3.51 ERA at Triple-A in 13 relief appearances and three starts this season.
