The Indians have released infielder Jose Lopez, the club announced Sunday via Twitter.
Lopez played 66 games for Cleveland this year, managing just a .249/.272/.366 line, hitting four home runs but striking out 35 times. The Indians used him primarily as a third baseman, where he started 34 games. Recently, Jack Hannahan has taken back that spot in the Indians' lineup, where he was originally the opening day third baseman.
