The Indians have placed pitcher Scott Atchison on the 15-day disabled list, the team announced Thursday. Atchison has been diagnosed with a left ankle sprain.
The 39-year-old right-hander has made 19 appearances for the Indians this season, holding a 1-1 record and a 5.74 ERA in 15 2/3 innings.
Pitcher Austin Adams and outfielder Jerry Sands were recalled from Triple-A, with first baseman Carlos Santana also going on the paternity list.
