Indians ace Corey Kluber had only surrendered two home runs in a game once this season when he arrived at Fenway Park on Wednesday.
And he proceeded to give up four to the Red Sox.
Boston took him back-to-back twice before he settled down. Kluber finished having given up six runs on six hits in six innings with one walk and nine strikeouts as he lowered his record to 8-13.
Kluber gave up successive blasts to David Ortiz and Travis Shaw in the second inning and Jackie Bradley and Ryan Hanigan in the fourth. The taters accounted for all the scoring against him.
It marked the third time in the last six outings in which Kluber has yielded at least five earned runs.
