Rays pitcher Jake Odorizzi took a loss Sunday, giving up five earned runs on eight hits and three walks in just three innings and striking out one in his team's 7-5 defeat against the Angels.
Odorizzi (7-9) let the first seven runners of the game reach base safely and ended up surrendering all five of his runs before the top of the first inning was over. He hadn't surrendered more than three runs in a game since his first start of June. Odorizzi owns a 4.09 ERA and 130:45 K:BB ratio in 116 2/3 innings. He's scheduled to face the Cubs Saturday.
