Mets relief pitcher Ramon Ramirez witnessed one of the great moments in Mets history Friday night, when Johan Santana threw the first no-hitter in franchise history. Unfortunately for Ramirez, he may have gotten a bit overzealous in his celebration.
Initially, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reported it was rookie Elvin Ramirez, who had just been called up Friday and has never appeared in a major-league game. Fortunately, Elvin avoided his potential Moonlight Graham moment.
And hopefully Elvin gets that MLB debut soon.
