Insofar as White Sox lefty John Danks is concerned, there's bad news, good news and then more bad news.
The first bit of bad news is that Danks has been diagnosed with torn subscapularis muscle in his throwing shoulder, reports Scott Powers of ESPN Chicago. The good news is that Danks's injury will not require surgery. The other bit of bad news is that Danks now has no clear timetable for his return to the active roster.
Danks had recently made a minor-league rehab start and pitched well; however, he reported soreness afterward. Danks, who has a 5.70 ERA in nine starts this season, hasn't pitched for the Sox since May 19. Jose Quintana will remain the Chicago rotation while Danks is out.
