Twins right-hander Kyle Gibson was forced to play Houdini at times Saturday, but he escaped jams and emerged with a win in his first start of the season.
Gibson threw 97 pitches and walked four in five innings, yet surrendered just one run on three hits with three strikeouts to beat Cleveland. He put two on in the first and three in the third, but gave up just one run in those two innings combined.
His next start is slated for Friday against Kansas City.
